Christian Kilgore Instrumental, North Oconee High School
A talented percussionist, Senior Christian Kilgore has spent his middle school and high years perfecting his skills where he has earned multiple GMEA honors and been selected for the Governor’s Honors Program. In 2016, he was selected to Equinox Percussion, Independent World Class Drumline at the age 15, where he is a section leader. In addition, Christian is member of his school’s Beta Club and has served as Drum Lieutenant and Drum Captain for North Oconee High School’s Band.
Harmony Kitchens Drama/Dance, Oconee County High School
For Senior Harmony Kitchens, dance is a way of life! She has danced fourteen years with Covington Regional Ballet's pre-professional ballet program under the direction of Peter and Ashley Swan, and she has participated in multiple performances for Oconee County High School, both in dance and chorus. She has also received acceptance to summer intensives with companies such as Alonzo King LINES in San Francisco, the American Ballet Theatre in New York, the Rock School of Ballet in Pennsylvania, and the Atlanta Ballet. Harmony has been offered a merit-based scholarship to train with the Joffrey Ballet, and to major in dance with the University of South Carolina next year.
Anna Ambartsumian Vocal, Oconee County High School
Senior Anna Ambartsumian’s life has always included music. Her voice has taken her to GMEA Honors Chorus, Governor’s Honors Program, and to performances with the Athens Master Chorale. In addition to her vocal talents, she has studied violin for 12 years, and is a violinist in the University of Georgia ARCO Chamber Orchestra. Anna is also a member of National Honors Society, Beta Club, and Tri-M Honors Society. She would love to have a career in opera and classical music, and is hoping to major in voice in college.
Makenzie Rhodes Vocal, Clarke Central High School
Makenzie Rhodes is a talented vocalist that recently graduated from Clarke Central High School in Athens, Ga. She has excelled in all aspects of performing arts from community theatre roles, participation in instrumental ensembles, and singing at church, school, and community events. She auditioned for America’s Got Talent, and was selected to perform the national anthem at her graduation ceremony in May. She is a member of National Society of High School Scholars, and she plans to continue her love of the arts by majoring in music at college next year.
Clare Wislar Visual, Clarke Central High School
Senior Clare Wislar is deeply driven by her passion for the arts. She spent much of her high school career taking as many arts classes as possible as well as being involved in both community and school arts projects. She is the president of Clarke Central’s art club, and co-president of their National Arts Honor Society chapter. Her work has been displayed at Lyndon House Arts Center, as part of murals within the Athens community, and in the Georgia Art Education Association’s Allstate Art Symposium. Clare intends to attend to Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts and major in communications arts.
