The Classic Center is deeply rooted in hospitality and acts as a learning lab for our community.
Fostering relationships with local education systems has resulted in pathways for all individuals despite education or training level. The Bread for Life program, Hospitality Careers Academy, Athens Technical College, and Piedmont College programs allow us to meet individuals where they are and give them the skills and training to grow and prosper within the hospitality industry.
The Classic Center has also been recognized as a Green Meetings Site by ConventionSouth and prioritizes environmental safety and efficiency. Learn more about these education and green initiatives by clicking on the buttons below.
Bread for Life Inc, is a non-profit organization that brings together an experienced educator to direct the overall program in addition to leaders in the local hospitality and other services industries as instructors. A dedicated crew of volunteers, and students have the desire to embark on a career path that will lift them and their families out of poverty. This recipe for success combines a classroom curriculum plus hands-on paid work training to prepare graduates for a viable, sustainable career.
The Hospitality Careers Academy is a terrific summer opportunity for students who are interested in a career in the hospitality and tourism industry. During this week-long academy students will: - Listen and interact with guest speakers in the industry - Participate in job shadowing and industry tours - Take part in team-building and leadership activities All of this will assist students with the capstone project that integrates and skills and information they've gained throughout the week, by executing a real event for 200+ attendees.
The Classic Center is not along in our mission to grow and educate the hospitality workforce. It is only with the support of our valued partners in education that we can make this dream a reality. A special Thank You to the following hospitality heroes that allow us to make this dream a reality.
