  1. FIRST Robotics FTC South Super Regional Championship

    March 23, 2017 - March 25, 2017 @ The Classic Center

    The robots are coming to Athens! Georgia FIRST Robotics, FIRST Tech Challenge, and Southern Company are proud to bring one of the largest robotics events in the country to the Classic Center in Athens, GA – The FIRST Tech Challenge South Super-Regional Championship. This three-day competition will showcase the talents of seventy-two top robotics teams (1500+ students, grades 7-12) from eleven southeastern states, including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia. The talent pool contained within the walls of this venue will be off the charts!

  2. TEDxUGA 2017

    Prisms transform light into a spectacular display of colors; the ordinary becomes the extraordinary. Ideas have the power to act as prisms. They challenge us, they change us—and when we hold them up to the light—they help us to see the world differently than before. TEDxUGA 2017 will explore the full spectrum of ideas that exists within the University of Georgia. Join the fifth annual celebration of ideas worth spreading. Participants may register for up to two seats and must provide a name and email address for each. The registration fee for TEDxUGA 2017 is $15 per seat, and registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable.   3. An Evening of Swing

    March 25, 2017, 6:30 PM - 11:00 PM @ The Georgia Club

    The Georgia Club will host An Evening of Swing on Saturday, March 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. as a benefit for The Classic Center Cultural Foundation. Tickets to the event are on sale now and are $79 per person or $150 per couple. Dinner and the first drink are also included with each ticket. Guests will enjoy an evening of ‘40s era swing music by the Weekend Getaway Band, as well as period cocktails and drinks. Attendees will dine on a full buffet. Prizes will be awarded to the top three for Best Costume and in the Dance Contest. All proceeds from An Evening of Swing will be donated to The Classic Center Cultural Foundation.   5. Athens Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

    The Athens Symphony Orchestra will perform their Spring Concert at The Classic Center Theatre on Sunday, March 26 at 3 p.m. Complimentary tickets are available for pick-up at The Classic Center Box Office during regular business hours. Tickets are limited to 4 per person and required for entry. The Spring Concert will feature compositions by Bizet, Puccini, Grieg, Steiner and McKillip.
